According to Mozzart Sport in Serbia, Borussia Monchengladbach are interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic.

It’s claimed that Gladbach boss Marco Rose has been impressed with Grujic’s progress on loan at Hertha Berlin, and now wants to land him.

Liverpool allegedly want around €20million (£18million) for Grujic, but that’s just too pricey for Gladbach in the current climate.

Instead, they want to take him on loan for a year with an option to buy him for €18million (£16.25million) in 2021 – but it’s unclear whether Liverpool would be keen.

Grujic has hit four goals and two assists for Hertha this season, and is finally set to return to Liverpool this summer after two years on loan in Germany.

The 24-year-old was Jurgen Klopp’s first signing as Liverpool boss back in January 2016, but he has only managed 14 games for the Reds.

With Liverpool’s budget stretched, Grujic may yet have a chance to make a name for himself at Anfield ahead of next season.

Yet having failed to break through by the age of 24, Grujic must be tempted to try his luck elsewhere – and Gladbach could be a move permanent home for him moving forward.
