Arsenal face a battle for Giannis Konstantelias with Borussia Dortmund now making him a top target for their summer transfer plans.

The Gunners are always looking for young and exciting talents, as seen with last summer’s move for Brazilian ace Marquinhos.

You may think that Arsenal wouldn’t be looking for another young winger with Marquinhos on board but Konstantelias is a target.

The London Evening Standard reported in January that Arsenal fancy bringing Konstantelias to England.

Gunners scouts have been watching the PAOK talent this season ahead of potentially launching a move.

Manchester City, Leeds United and many other clubs are also thought to be interested in signing Konstantelias.

A former Barcelona trialist, Konstantelias has been turning heads even though two goals and five assists in 21 games this season may not sound all that impressive.

Yet if Arsenal want to sign Konstantelias, they may run into a rather familiar foe in Borussia Dortmund.

Arsenal target Giannis Konstantelias wanted by Borussia Dortmund

Gazzetta over in Greece report that Dortmund are keen on luring Konstantelias to Germany.

It’s suggested that Dortmund have been watching Konstantelias and actually have him as their top target for the summer in terms of young prospects.

The report claims that Dortmund want to recruit a number of youngsters from around the world and Konstantelias is one of the top targets.

Capable of playing out wide or as a number 10, Konstantelias already has two caps for Greece and many more are expected.

Arsenal may be left feeling that Dortmund are spying on their transfer plans at this point.

The Gunners have been interested in snapping up Real Valladolid youngster Ivan Fresneda, a talented right back.

However, reports suggest that Dortmund are actually leading the race and could bring him to Signal Iduna Park.

Dortmund could now add to that by landing Konstantelias too, possibly snatching two Edu targets unless Arsenal ramp up their interest.
