Borussia Dortmund have told Liverpool and other interested parties that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will cost £63m to sign this summer.
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has accepted that Aubameyang will probably be leaving the Signal Iduna Park ahead of the 2017/18 season, but only at the right price.
“We will listen to it when a club is willing to show its appreciation for Aubameyang in a financial way as well,” Watzke told German publication Bild, as quoted by the Independent.
“If an official bid were to reach more than £63m, it would have to be reported as a necessary to proceed. This has not happened so far.”
Aubameyang himself has admitted that he is looking to depart the Yellow and Blacks after four years at the club in which he has scored 120 goals in 189 games.

“If I want to go to the next level, I need to leave in summer,” the 28-year-old was quoted by the Independent back in January.
Paris Saint-Germain were thought to be leading the race to sign Aubameyang and made an official approach, but have since pulled out.

That leaves the door open for the Reds, who now seem the favourites to sign the Gabon international as they prepare for a return to the Champions League.
Manager Juergen Klopp knows Aubameyang well too, having signed the striker from Saint-Etienne when he was Dortmund boss back in the summer of 2013.
