West Ham United could soon have a Bundesliga bid to respond to, with Declan Rice reportedly attracting Borussia Dortmund’s attention.

Rice has been exceptional for the Hammers this season. Manuel Pellegrini has pushed the 19-year-old into a holding midfield role, and the change has proved inspired.
West Ham’s midfield has been a key reason for their recent turnaround in fortunes. But unfortunately for the Irons, there remains a question mark over Rice’s future at the London Stadium with The Sun reporting that the Hammers are struggling to agree a new contract with the youngster.
And what may potentially make matters worse is that The Sun are reporting that Dortmund are considering offering Rice the chance to become the latest Premier League starlet to head to the Westfalenstadion, one year after luring Jadon Sancho away from Manchester City.

Dortmund are reportedly hoping to tempt Sancho’s former teammate Phil Foden to head to Germany also, but Rice is another player that they wish to sign in the future.
West Ham need to step up
Rice’s form should allow West Ham to argue that they are the club that can help the starlet realise his full potential. But the Hammers need to back that up in the contract that they offer the academy graduate.
He is now a key player for Pellegrini’s side. And if they needed any more convincing that they should look to meet Rice’s contract demands as soon as possible, Dortmund’s presence in the background should surely now do the trick.
