Everton could return for Borja Iglesias this summer.
According to El Desmarque, Espanyol striker Borja Iglesias may be tempted to make a move to the Premier League, with Everton once again linked.
Iglesias, 26, found first-team football hard to come by at Celta Vigo, and after smashing 22 goals on loan at Real Zaragoza, he moved on to Espanyol last summer.
The move has been a masterstroke for the Spaniard, as he’s racked up 16 goals in 38 games in all competitions, whilst also notching three assists.
Iglesias may be something of a late bloomer, but he’s become one of La Liga’s most feared strikers thanks to his size, strength and aerial ability, representing the ideal target man.
El Desmarque now report that Iglesias may be tempted by a move to England this summer, with Everton still interested, whilst Valencia would be keen to sign him and keep him in Spain.
It’s claimed that Everton would be willing to quadruple his wages in order to make the move to Goodison Park, and that kind of money may be hard to turn down for a player who spent the early stages of his career in the shadows.
Iglesias has a release clause of €28million (£24million), but Marca claim that the Spaniard rejected a move to Everton in the January transfer window, preferring to see out the season with Espanyol.
With the season coming to an end and that Everton offer still seemingly on the table, Iglesias may be tempted to make the move now, and give Marco Silva the boost he needs in attack.
