According to Courier Picard, Rangers have pulled out of a move for Amiens midfielder Bongani Zungu due to concerns over his fitness.
It’s claimed that Zungu was all set to sign for Rangers, but the Gers weren’t so keen with what they found in his medical.
The report notes that Zungu was ‘overweight’, and Rangers decided to back away from a deal for that reason.
It now seems that the South African international won’t be heading to Ibrox after all, following weeks of speculation.
L’Equipe reported in July that Zungu was all set for a €4million (£3.6million) move to Ibrox, with a four-year deal waiting for him.
However, Rangers could now look elsewhere, amid those concerns that Zungu may have some fitness problems.

The 27-year-old has endured injury problems during his time at Amiens, and combining those with concerns over his weight has seemingly put Rangers off.
Steven Gerrard will still want another defensive midfield player, but rather than take a risk on Zungu, they will have to find somebody else to come in and bolster the Rangers squad.
