Report: Bolton Wanderers weighing up move for Hearts' Bjorn Johnsen

The Hearts striker is a reported target for Bolton Wanderers boss Phil Parkinson.

Bolton Wanderers are weighing up a move for Hearts striker Bjorn Johnsen, according to The Scottish Sun.

Johnsen scored seven goals and created as many in 37 appearances during his debut season at Tynecastle, although most of those came before the turn of the year.

The 25-year-old is said to have fallen out with new boss Ian Cathro, and the capture of Kyle Lafferty from Norwich City has cast further doubts over the Norwegian’s future in Edinburgh.

Bolton boss Phil Parkinson has already completed the permanent signing of Adam Le Fondre from Cardiff City, although the capture of six-foot-five Johnsen would add a different dimension to the Trotters’ attack.

The New York-born frontman – who was watched by Derby County in November – made his Norway debut earlier this month, and in doing so is said to have generated interest in his services.

The Sun reported earlier this week that Bolton are set to win the race to sign Sunderland winger Will Buckley at the end of his contract.
