Nottingham Forest only signed Zach Clough in January but he could already be on his way back to Bolton Wanderers.

After just one year at Nottingham Forest, Zach Clough is already being offered a chance to escape.
According to the Nottingham Post, former club Bolton Wanderers are keen to bring the diminutive schemer back to Lancashire 12 months after losing him to Forest for a hefty fee of £3 million, per the Bolton News.
Clough, despite a bright start to life at the City Ground, has not really kicked on and has started only three Championship games all season with manager Mark Warburton struggling to find a place in his starting XI for the lightweight number ten.
And his former Bolton manager Phil Parkinson has indicated that he would be prepared to bring Clough back to the Macron Stadium should the opportunity arise.

“He’ll have got a terrific contract there first and foremost but it’s not all about money for Zach because he loves his football,” Parkinson told the Bolton News before their 3-2 defeat against Forest on Saturday, a game in which Clough did not feature.
“Players want to play and he hasn’t played as much as he wanted.”
Clough is only a quarter of the way through a four-and-a-half year deal at Forest but, with Warburton keen to bring in St Mirren’s Lewis Morgan in January per The Mirror, there is a very real chance that the 22-year-old could fall further down the pecking order.

Though a return to Bolton is only likely to happen via a loan move, with The Trotters struggling financially and surely unable to help Forest recoup the fee they invested 12 months ago.
But a short-term spell back at Bolton could be perfect for all parties.
