Bolton Wanderers are reportedly looking to sign the Newcastle United winger, Sammy Ameobi, on a permanent deal this summer.
According to reports from The Bolton News, Phil Parkison’s side will consider making a move for Amebi, if the price is right.
Ameobi has been on Newcastle’s books since 2008, and has made 69 appearances for the Magpies. He spent the last season on loan with Bolton, where he netted four goals.

Financial issues prevented him from returning in January, but the Whites are keen to bring him back to the Macron Stadium this summer. The report adds that the player personally favours a move to Bolton.
Ameobi was recalled by Rafa Benitez from loan spell, as the Spaniard wanted to give him a second chance. However, he was unable to break into the team on a regular basis.

The player is on the verge of ending his nine year long association with the club, and will be confirmed as a free transfer when the Magpies announce their retained list in the coming days.
However, Bolton cannot match what Ameobi has earned in the last few seasons at the Newcastle, and in order to secure a move, he needs to take a pay-cut.
The report adds that Newcastle have opened talks with Bolton to reach a compromise. The Whites are keeping their options open.
