The long-serving Toffees midfielder was released in the summer.

Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman is on the verge of landing a new club in Bolton Wanderers, according to the Sun.
Osman, who spent 16 seasons a professional at Goodison Park, was released by the Toffees at the end of last season.
However, the report claims the 35-year-old’s help is about to be enlisted by League One Bolton, after Phil Parkinson’s side sipped to eighth in the standings despite an electric start to life in the third tier.

Osman, who bar loan spells at Carlisle United and Derby County has only ever played for one club, featured on nine occasions in last season’s Premier League – down from 21 the previous campaign.
But with over 350 top flight appearances to his name, he is sure to be of use to Bolton, who’ve failed to score in any of their last five league outings, calling Parkinson’s style of play into question.

Even without Osman, the Trotters possess a side packed with high-level experience, with Jay Spearing, David Wheater and Mark Davies all on the books at the Macron Stadium.
