The Leeds United defender appears to be surplus to requirements at Elland Road.
According to an exclusive report from Italian website Tutto Mercato Web, Leeds United centre-back Giuseppe Bellusci is a target for Bologna this summer.
The 27-year-old spent last season on loan at Empoli but he was unable to stop them from suffering relegation, with his disciplinary record coming under scrutiny as he collected far more bookings than victories during his time back in his homeland.
Bellusci was only on the winning team on seven occasions in Serie A this season, but that has apparently not stopped Bologna from making a move.
The defender previously featured 61 times for Leeds, scoring two goals in the process, however his performances in the heart of their defence were not always the best and a horror show against Middlesbrough appeared to be mark the end of his time at Elland Road.
For now he remains on Leeds’ books and much could depend on who replaces the recently departed Garry Monk at the helm.
The new boss may feel Bellusci has something to offer, especially now that loanee Kyle Bartley has returned to his parent club Swansea City.
However it is far more likely that he will return to his homeland, with Bologna allegedly planning a move in due course.
