Aston Villa, Burnley and Fulham are all keen on Josh Onomah but Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants to keep the midfielder at Tottenham Hotspur.

The trio of clubs interested in signing Josh Onomah on loan are going to be left disappointed, according to the Mirror, as Tottenham Hotspur are set to keep hold of him.

Onomah spent last season at Aston Villa, who were keen on landing the midfielder again, but they faced competition from Premier League duo Burnley and Fulham.

Yet Spurs have been struck down with an injury crisis and having made no new signings themselves this summer, don’t want to lose any more players.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino plans to keep Onomah in the first team at White Hart Lane with concerns over who will play in midfield in their season opener against Newcastle United this weekend.

Moussa Sissoko, Victor Wanyama and Harry Winks are all currently sidelined through injury, while Erik Lamela is still recovering from a hip problem suffered last term.

Added to that the fact that Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele are yet to return to Tottenham after their semi-final exploits at the 2018 World Cup with England and Belgium respectively, Onomah could well be used by Pochettino against the Magpies.
