It doesn’t look like Crystal Palace will be signing Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen.

Crystal Palace have received a blow in their pursuit of Jasper Cillessen, with the goalkeeper stating he is “very happy” at current club Barcelona.

Previous reports from the Croydon Advertiser suggested new Eagles manager Frank de Boer would make a move for Cillessen if Steve Mandanda returned to Marseille.

Well Mandanda has now completed that switch, suggesting De Boer would up his efforts to sign a stopper he worked with at Ajax for five years.

However, despite playing second fiddle to Marc-Andre ter Stegen at the Camp Nou during his first season with Barca following a 2016 move from the Amsterdam Arena, Cillessen says he is going nowhere.

“I have not spoken with Frank, I know him well but I’ve not talked to him,” the 28-year-old told ESPN.

And would he consider leaving if De Boer did call? “No, I’m not going. I am very happy here.”

De Boer currently has Wayne Hennessey and veteran Julian Speroni as options between the sticks following the departure of Mandanda after just one difficult year in English football.

The Eagles have also been linked with West Ham United ‘keeper Adrian following their signing of Joe Hart, according to the Mirror, but face competition from Newcastle United.
