Despite signing Richard Stearman, Sheffield United are still keen on bringing in Ethan Ebanks-Landell from Wolves.
Sheffield United completed their fifth signing of the summer on Thursday (July 6) when Richard Stearman was signed from Fulham for a “substantial” undisclosed fee.
Stearman joins George Baldock, Ched Evans, Enda Stevens and Nathan Thomas on the list of permanent additions to the Blades squad, but manager Chris Wilder has already admitted that transfer business is not done.

“Yeah, we are (happy),” Wilder told the Sheffield Star. “We are a little bit frustrated that we have not got a couple more over the line.”
Someone who has been heavily linked with a move to Bramall Lane this summer is Ethan Ebanks-Landell, with the 24-year-old having impressed while on loan at the Yorkshire club in 2016/17 from current side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Ebanks-Landell played 34 League One matches for United and scored five goals to help them to the title and promotion to the Championship.
Wilder admitted that he was looking to land the 24-year-old before Stearman arrived at the club and made an enquiry to Wolves about signing the centre-back last month.
“We’ve made contact with Wolves,” the 49-year-old was quoted by the Express and Star. “Numbers get banded around at this stage but it’s when players come back for training proper when I think things start to happen.”
With both Ebanks-Landell and Stearman playing in the same position, there may have been concerns that a deal for the former would be off, but the Sheffield Star reports that the Blades are still very much in the chase for the man they had on loan last season.
