Efe Ambrose has not made an appearance for Celtic since back in July 2016.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Celtic defender Efe Ambrose is a transfer target for Blackburn Rovers.

Ambrose has become somewhat of a forgotten man at Celtic so far this season, with the 28-year-old’s last appearance coming way back in July last year.

Jozo Simunovic and Erik Sviatchenko have become Celtic’s first-choice pairing in central defence, while Kolo Toure is used in reserve.

Celtic are now prepared to listen to offers for Ambrose, and Blackburn are willing to take the Nigerian international.

Blackburn are said to be looking at a loan offer for Ambrose until the end of the season, when the transfer could be made permanent.

Celtic are unlikely to stand in Ambrose’s way, should an offer come in, as he appears to have very little future at Parkhead.

Blackburn are currently fighting against relegation in the Championship, with Owen Coyle’s side sitting in 22nd place in England’s second tier.
