Newcastle United are keen to bring the Scotland international to St James Park.
Grant Hanley of Blackburn Rovers
According to the Chronicle, Blackburn Rovers have rejected two bids from Newcastle United for defender Grant Hanley.
The Magpies have been busy in this summer transfer window so far, bringing in four new faces to St James’ Park.
They added Jesus Gamez this week, as the defender completed a move from Atletico Madrid, joining Matz Sels, Dwight Gayle and Matt Ritchie in making the move to the North East.
Blackburn’s Grant Hanley
He is not the only defensive recruit that Rafa Benitez wants to add though, especially following the departure of Fabricio Coloccini.
One player who he is targeting is Blackburn Rovers defender Grant Hanley, but the Championship side are not keen on a sale. According to the Chronicle, they have already turned down two bids for the Scotland international.
Blackburn Rovers Grant Hanley
The clubs owners, Venkys, are renowned for being hard sellers and turned down two bids from Burnley for Hanley last season.
Should Newcastle be unable to come to an agreement for the defender, Benitez does have a contingency plan of other targets if it becomes apparent his current side will not sell under any circumstances.
