Premier League newcomers Sheffield United reportedly want to raid former Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers for Darragh Lenihan.

Chris Wilder is hoping to finally sign Blackburn Rovers defender Darragh Lenihan after Sheffield United tried and failed to lure him to Bramall Lane all the way back in 2017, as reported by The Lancashire Telegraph.
The Blades sealed a surprise return to the Premier League after a 12 year absence in May and, while it has been quiet on the transfer front so far, the Steel City side are expected to spend big in the next two months or so.
A top quality centre-forward appears to be high on the club’s wishlist with Neal Maupay, Bradley Dack and Oli McBurnie linked with big-money moves of late.
But the Lancashire Telegraph believes that Wilder is hoping to strengthen Sheffield United’s famously dogged backline too with Lenihan still in his sights.
The 25-year-old Republic of Ireland international has risen through the ranks at Blackburn and made 34 Championship appearances under Tony Mowbray last season.

His tough-tackling style and willingness to throw his body on the line in favour of a clean sheet should appeal to Wilder while Lenihan looks a perfect fit for the ex-Northampton boss’ three-man centre-back system.
The report does suggest, however, that Lenihan is happy at Ewood Park and could resist Sheffield United’s advances.
