A Blackburn Rovers employee is said to have been present as Aston Villa’s Under-23s won again on Monday night.

Lyden scored the winning goal as Villa’s Under-23s overcame their counterparts from Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday.
And the Australian midfielder was apparently watched specifically by emissaries from Blackburn, Shrewsbury Town and Northampton Town.

It is claimed there were ‘a dozen or so’ scouts present in total, although their identities are not disclosed and it remains to be seen whether or not Lyden was the focus of their attention.
Lyden has only made two appearances for Villa’s first team this season, both in the Carabao Cup.

Blackburn, who took West Brom midfielder Rekeem Harper on loan for the rest of the season in August, are not short in Lyden’s preferred position.
However, the Perth born player can also play right-back if required.
Should Aston Villa loan out Lyden in January? Would Blackburn be a good fit?
