Birmingham City are reportedly keen on West Brom ace Craig Gardner.
According to the Daily Mail, Birmingham City are interested in re-signing West Bromwich Albion midfielder Craig Gardner on loan during this month’s transfer window.
The Blues will be looking for reinforcements after appointing Italian boss Gianfranco Zola as their new manager last month, and with just one point from four games, Birmingham have slipped off the pace in the pursuit of a play-off place.

Zola’s men lie seven points off the top six, and with Zola seeking new signings, a former Birmingham midfielder is being linked with a return to St. Andrews.
The Daily Mail report that West Bromwich Albion’s Craig Gardner is a target for Birmingham, with the Blues seeking a loan deal for the 30-year-old.

Gardner started his career with Birmingham’s biggest rivals Aston Villa, and after six goals in 80 games for Villa, he left to join Birmingham in January 2010, where he scored 11 times in 52 appearances.
The midfielder moved on to Sunderland in 2011 and West Brom in 2014, and whilst he notched three goals and three assists for the Baggies last season, he’s been a bit-part figure under Tony Pulis this term.
With just two Premier League starts this term – the last of which came on the 20th of August – Gardner is out of favour under Pulis, and could seek a January move away from The Hawthorns.
A move back to Birmingham could be appealing to Gardner, and he’d bring some proven quality to Zola’s midfield, offering ability on the ball and from set pieces, with the midfielder also capable of scoring goals from long-range – and having been a reliable Premier League player for West Brom, he would be a smart signing for Birmingham.
