Birmingham City are reportedly favourites to sign Chelsea’s Kasey Palmer.

According to The Mirror (23:36), Birmingham City are leading the race to sign Chelsea youngster Kasey Palmer despite interest from Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.
Palmer, 21, started his career in the youth ranks at Charlton Athletic before heading to Chelsea in 2013, but in nearly five years with the Blues, he has yet to make his debut for the club.
The midfielder spent last season on loan with Huddersfield Town, helping the Terriers win promotion to the Premier League before extending his loan move into this season too.
However, with just one Premier League start in the first half of the season, Chelsea recalled Palmer earlier this month, and now intend to send him out on loan again before Wednesday’s transfer deadline.
Now, The Mirror (23:36) report that Birmingham City are hoping to complete a deal for Palmer this week, in the hope of landing the England Under-21 international to aid their battle against relegation.
Birmingham already have Jeremie Boga on loan from Chelsea, and will hope to use their links with the Blues to tie up a move for Palmer in the coming days.
It’s added that Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday are both keen to land Palmer too, but look set to miss out on his signature to Birmingham.
United may have been eyeing up Palmer to boost their play-off push, whilst Wednesday are in the market for reinforcements under new manager Jos Luhukay, but a return to Yorkshire doesn’t appear to be on the cards for Palmer.
