Robin Quaison has been in fine form for Palermo, earning admiration from Watford, Birmingham City and, reportedly, Juventus.

If it wasn’t difficult enough already for Birmingham City and Watford to convince Robin Quaison to swap Serie A for a potential relegation battle or the mid-table No Man’s Land of the second tier, the fact that Juventus have also entered the race, as reported by Calciomercato, really doesn’t help matters.

The versatile 23-year-old, a sole bright spark in an otherwise dismal season for a Palermo side cut adrift in the bottom three, has netted four goals this season while alternating between roles as a natural striker, attacking midfielder or winger.

Consequently, the Birmingham Mail reported that Gianfranco Zola had identified the Sweden international (below), whose contract expires at the end of the season, as one of his top targets though Watford were also expected to make a move to enhance their ever-growing contingent of former Serie A stars.

However, both Italian-coached sides could be left disappointed, especially after Calciomercato reported that Juventus have expressed an interest in adding Quaison to a fearsome forward line of Gonzalo Higuain, Paolo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic.

They add that Juve director of football Giuseppe Marotta wants to sign the player permanently for £2.3 million before loaning him back to Palermo for the remainder of the campaign.

The prospect of fighting for titles and playing in the Champions League may certainly appeal more than a Tuesday trip to Rotherham United but, if its regular first-team minutes Quaison wants, Birmingham and Watford may still harbour some hope.
