Birmingham City have been linked with Derby County defender Richard Keogh.

Birmingham City are interested in signing Richard Keogh from Derby County in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 65, July 9, 2017).

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Birmingham manager Harry Redknapp will raid Championship rivals Derby for the 30-year-old defender.

According to the report, the Blues may have to pay close to £3 million in order to secure the services of the Republic of Ireland international.

Keogh has been on the books of Derby since 2012 and is one of the best defenders in the Championship.

The former Carlisle United and Coventry City man knows the second tier of English football inside out, and he would indeed be a very good signing for Birmingham.

However, it may not be easy for Birmingham to convince Derby to part company with Keogh, even for £3m.

After all, like Birmingham, Derby will also be aiming to win automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
