Birmingham City have reportedly lodged a bid for Crystal Palace’s fringe man.
The Blues have made a £4 million bid for Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sako, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The 28-year-old is yet to start a Premier League game for the Eagles this season, and is seen as dispensable by Palace boss Sam Allardyce.
And the Birmingham Mail report that Gianfranco Zola has identified the Mali international as the perfect addition to his attacking options.

Sako has struggled since his move to Selhurst Park from Wolves in the summer of 2015 on a free transfer, scoring just twice in 27 outings for Palace.
He still has a lot to offer, however, and his pace and direct style of play could definitely bring something to the Blues side which they currently lack.

It was reported at the end of last month that the Birmingham owners have made £11 million available for Zola to spend in January, but whether spending over a third of that on Sako would be a wise move is questionable to say the least.
The problem for the Blues is that there are so many areas of the squad that need addressing, so there will surely be a few loan deals coming into St Andrews, on top of the expected permanent signings.
