Birmingham City have been linked with Liverpool defender Joe Gomez in the summer transfer window.

Birmingham City are interested in signing Joe Gomez from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that Championship club Birmingham have made an enquiry about signing Gomez on loan.

The Blues, though, are not the only club who have been linked with the 20-year-old defender, who can operate as a centre-back or as a full-back.

The Argus recently quoted Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton as saying that he wants Gomez.

The Sun reported last month that Scottish Premiership giants Celtic want to secure the services of the England Under-21 international.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, though, is not ready to make a decision on the future of Gomez just yet, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that Klopp will make a decision on the youngster only after he has made an assessment in pre-season.

Gomez has been on the books of Liverpool since 2015 when he joined from Charlton Athletic for a transfer fee reported by The Sun to be worth £3.5 million and has a contract with the Reds until June 2022, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
