Coventry City boss Mark Robins is under consideration to replace Pep Clotet at Birmingham City at the end of the season, according to The Sun (9 June, page 50), while Michael Laudrup is another option.
If only Blues fans could turn back the clock.
With every season that goes by, the decision to hand Gary Rowett his P45 in the most controversial of circumstances in December 2016 looks even more foolish.
Birmingham were seventh in the Championship at the time – and they have hardly been within a sniff of the play-offs ever since.
Now, with Clotet confirming that he will be on his way out of St Andrews after just one season in the head coach role, the Midland giants are looking for their sixth manager in less than four years.
Getting a man with Championship experience appears to be the priority, with The Sun pointing out that Slavisa Jokanovic, Chris Hughton and Tony Pulis are under consideration.
The aforementioned trio have all thrived in the second tier before, winning promotion with the likes of Fulham, Brighton and Stoke respectively.

The Sun, however, suggests that Robins could also be targeted after a superb season at Coventry. The Sky Blues are five points clear at the top of League One and, funnily enough, they have been playing their home games at Birmingham’s St Andrews stadium in recent months.
Laudrup, meanwhile, would most certainly be a left-field option, even if he is still well-regarded in Britain after leading a Michu-inspired Swansea City side to League Cup glory in 2013 (Telegraph).
The Barcelona legend was most recently spotted in the Middle East with Lekhwiya and Al Rayyan. He would also continue with the pretty passing football introduced to Birmingham by Clotet.
