West Midlands pair Birmingham City and Wolverhampton Wanderers are among several Championship clubs keen on Eastleigh midfielder Luke Coulson, according to this week’s Football League Paper (page three).
Former Manchester City trainee Coulson has scored six goals in eight National League outings this season, helping the Hampshire side to eighth in the standings.
Despite being three leagues below both Birmingham and Wolves, the report claims Eastleigh are under no financial pressure to sell their prized asset.
Bankrolled by millionaire businessman Stewart Donald, the Spitfires have already lured former Rotherham United and Oldham Athletic boss Ronnie Moore to Ten Acres.
And Moore told the Daily Echo last week his chairman would not sell for £1 million – the current record for a non-league player.
Eastleigh paid a club-record undisclosed fee to sign Coulson, who can play on both flanks or in the number 10 position, from Oxford United in January this year.
The 22-year-old was also spent time at Championship side Cardiff City and has two more years to run on his deal.
