Birmingham City are close to completing the signing of Alex Song.

The report claims that a deal has been agreed with Rubin Kazan for the former Barcelona midfielder, and the player has travelled to the midlands to complete the move.
Song could be the third signing of the day, after Birmingham agreed a deal for Jason Lowe, and Jota set to complete his move from Brentford, (Sky Sports live blog – 12:41 pm).

Song joined Kazan last summer, ending a four-year spell with La Liga giants Barcelona.
The 29-year-old spent six seasons at Arsenal where he made a strong impression before moving to Barcelona in 2012.
He struggled to make a strong impact for the Catalan club, playing only 65 times for them in all competitions over four years.

He has made 49 appearances for the Cameroon national team.
A proven Premier League player with loads of experience, he would be a fantastic signing for Birmingham.
Song spent the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons on loan at West Ham, and Harry Redknapp believes he can perform well in the Championship.
