Birmingham City and Norwich City are both keen on pursuing a deal for Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik.

The Sun on Sunday reports that Bielik is returning to full fitness after four months on the sidelines following a shoulder operation, and is set to attract plenty of attention when the transfer window opens next month.

But they may well have to see off competition from the Blues, who could also be interested having had Bielik on loan for the second half of last season.

It certainly appears that Birmingham’s need for January reinforcements is much greater than Norwich’s. Following their defeat at home to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, Steve Cotterill’s men are now bottom of the table having lost four of their last five.
Norwich – who are Birmingham’s Boxing Day opponents – meanwhile, are on a similarly-poor run of form right now, having won just one of their previous nine game and now find themselves languishing in the bottom-half of the table, 10 points off the play-off places and bottom three.
