Aston Villa midfielder Birkir Bjarnason is reportedly looking set to leave the Championship side this summer.

The Villans fans are enduring something of a miserable summer, and many may be anxious with the Mirror reporting that the club need to make major cut-backs due to the financial problems that have arisen after missing out on promotion last season.
It would be a big blow for Steve Bruce to lose both during this window – and that is something that Villa fans would have probably struggled to imagine saying after both midfielders’ starts to life with the Villans.

Bjarnason, in particular, seemed to make a desperately slow start to his time in the Championship. However, last season, something seemed to click for the 30-year-old and he was able to make a much greater impact for Villa as they came seriously close to getting back into the Premier League.
But unfortunately for Bruce, it appears that Villa will face a much tougher task during the coming year if they hope to give themselves a chance of going one step further than last season, with reports now suggesting that Bjarnason is looking likely to follow Jedinak out of the door.
