Matej Vydra is planning to leave Burnley in the January transfer window despite only signing a new deal at Turf Moor last week, as reported by Lancs Live.
Do not make the mistake in assuming that a contract extension means the £11 million striker is destined to stay for the long haul.
Vydra has started just one Premier League game all season and that came all the way back in September, with Dyche preferring Chris Wood, Jay Rodriguez and the returning Ashley Barnes at centre-forward.
And, with his place in Czech Republic’s European Championship squad seemingly under threat, the former Derby County, Watford and Reading striker wants to go as soon as possible.
Interestingly, one of the most expensive signings in Burnley’s history put pen to paper with the Premier League strugglers a matter of days ago.

But, as Sean Dyche himself explained, this was a classic case of a club looking to stop a player leaving for absolutely nothing.
Vydra was due to become a free agent in 2021 but his contract has now been extended by a further 12 months.
That will allow Burnley to demand a sizeable fee, although it seems unlikely the Clarets will succeed in making back their £11 million investment.
Since the start of 2018/19, Vydra has started league games, scoring just three times.
