Leeds United have reportedly missed out on Majid Hosseini.

According to Turkish newspaper Gazete Damga, Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa wanted to sign defender Majid Hosseini – but he stuck to his promise to join Trabzonspor.
The Whites may have taken a little while to get going in the summer transfer window, but did equip Bielsa with five new signings ahead of the Championship season, bringing in Jamal Blackman, Barry Douglas, Lewis Baker, Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford.
So far, Douglas is the only new signing to start a league game for Leeds, and Bielsa seemingly wants one more signing, with another centre back wanted to compete with Liam Cooper, Pontus Jansson and Gaetano Berardi.
Now, Turkish newspaper Gazete Damga report some surprising news, claiming that Leeds wanted to sign Iranian defender Majid Hosseini, with Bielsa pushing the interest in the centre back.
However, it’s claimed that Hosseini had already given his word to Trabzonspor, and he stuck to his promise by finalising a move to the Turkish side at the end of July.

Hosseini, 22, has starred in his native Iran with Esteghlal, and he impressed for his country at this summer’s World Cup, sparking interest from Leeds and Trabzonspor.
The 6ft defender looks to have a bright future, and Leeds may be disappointed to have missed out if the reports are true, but the club should continue monitoring his progress in Turkey ahead of a possible second attempt in the future.
