According to Wales Online, Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa thinks Bournemouth ace David Brooks would fit in well at Elland Road.

It’s claimed that Leeds are in the race to sign Brooks, with Bielsa believing that he would be an ideal fit in his attacking style.

The problem for Leeds is that many other clubs want Brooks too. Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Leicester City and Crystal Palace are also interested.

Just two years since an £11.5million move from Sheffield United, Brooks is now being valued at a staggering £40million.

After Bournemouth’s relegation and the global pandemic, it seems unlikely that the Cherries will receive that kind of money, and Leeds are unlikely to pay it.

Still, the Welsh playmaker may be a prime target for Leeds if they can drive the price down, given the huge potential he undoubtedly possesses.

Brooks missed most of the past season with injury, but came back towards the end of the campaign and showed off his creativity and ability to ghost past players.

The 23-year-old would likely play in from from the right flank at Leeds, which is where Helder Costa currently plays – and Leeds would have to decide whether to spend big on another player in that area.

He could be an heir to Pablo Hernandez centrally in the future, as Brooks has the ability to play there – but Leeds would have to beat Tottenham and a host of other clubs to make that a reality.
