Matty Longstaff has still not decided whether he wants to join Leeds United, according to the Shields Gazette.

The Telegraph suggest that Leeds are considering making a move for Longstaff, whose contract at Newcastle United has now expired.

However, whether the youngster will end up at Elland Road still remains to be seen.

That is because the Shields Gazette claim that Longstaff still hasn’t made his mind up over his next move.

Longstaff’s contract at Newcastle has expired, with the Magpies unable to get him to agree new terms.

But staying at St. James’ Park is a possibility, as is joining Leeds.

Longstaff has impressed in a fine breakthrough season at Premier League level, and now has plenty of options to choose from as he plans the next step in his development.

It is understandable that Longstaff seemingly wants to assess all his options before making a final decision over his future.

If he was to join Leeds he could be an exciting addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s squad though.

Longstaff has shown real quality in the top flight over the past campaign, and he could have a chance of breaking straight into Leeds’ starting line-up if he was to join.
