According to La Nazione, Leeds United are plotting a double deal for Fiorentina duo Erick Pulgar and Christian Kouame.

It’s claimed that Marcelo Bielsa has recommended the pair to Leeds’ recruitment team, given his admiration for both players.

Leeds’ interest is described as ‘concrete’, but it’s unclear whether they will actually formulate a cash bid that Fiorentina will deem acceptable.

The report even states that it may be possible for Leeds to take the duo on loan with a permanent deal in place for 2021, meaning all avenues are open for Leeds.

Pulgar, 26, is primarily a holding midfield player, possessing a good frame at 6ft 2in tall as well as having real experience in Serie A with Bologna and Fiorentina.

He can also contribute goals having scored seven times last season, but would surely be used mostly as backup to Kalvin Phillips at Leeds.

Pulgar only broke into the Chile side in 2015, meaning Bielsa was long gone as Chile manager, but is likely still aware of his quality.

Kouame has only bagged two goals and two assists in 22 games for Fiorentina, but can still be a real threat with his pace across the front line.

Bielsa may see the 23-year-old Ivorian as competition up front and out wide, seemingly believing that Fiorentina have two players that can really help his Leeds side.
