Turkish champions Besiktas have identified West Ham’s Diafra Sakho as their number one target to replace Cenk Tosun.
Turkish newspaper Fanatik claims Besiktas chiefs want West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho on loan until the end of the season, after baulking at the Hammers asking price of £8.8million.
The 28-year-old is set to leave the London Stadium during the next fortnight as he is now firmly planted in the final six months of his contract at West Ham, with his intentions seemingly set on leaving the club.
Turkish chiefs are currently camped in London in order to find Cenk Tosun’s replacement, after the Turkish striker joined Everton earlier this month for a huge fee of £27million.
Former Metz striker Sakho has been identified as their number one target, with the report claiming teammate Javier Hernandez, Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony and Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck are also on their shortlist.
However, chiefs believe Sakho is not worth West Ham’s asking price of £8.8million, and would rather loan the eight-time Senegal international to the Turkish champions squad instead of purchasing him permanently.
It remains to be seen if the Hammers will allow a temporary deal for the versatile forward, as they look for funds to spend on improving David Moyes’ squad ahead of a crucial second half to the season.
