Newcastle United are reportedly set to miss out on three wingers this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United have been priced out of moves for three wingers – Liverpool’s Sheyi Ojo, Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore and Norwich’s Jacob Murphy.
The Magpies brought in defender Florian Lejeune from Eibar last week, and whilst they secured winger Christian Atsu on a permanent basis, another wide man appears to be on Rafael Benitez’s radar.

Benitez has suffered a number of frustrations in the transfer market this summer, and that could be exacerbated by claims that moves for three wingers have hit the buffers.
The Daily Mail report that Newcastle wanted Liverpool’s Sheyi Ojo, Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore and Norwich’s Jacob Murphy, but they have been priced out of moves for all three.
It’s claimed that Liverpool’s demands to sanction a loan exit for Ojo are beyond what Newcastle want to pay, meaning that the 20-year-old – who played just twice in all competitions last season – is unlikely to head to St. James’ Park.
Meanwhile, Spanish winger Traore showed some promise with Boro last season, displaying pace and dribbling ability, with Newcastle still keen to sign him despite his infamous lack of end product.

However, Middlesbrough’s asking price for the former Barcelona youngster is described as unrealistic for Newcastle, and an £8million bid for Norwich ace Murphy has been rejected, with the Canaries adamant that he isn’t for sale at that price.
That leaves Newcastle scrambling in the transfer market once again, and being priced out of deals for three young wingers – whether permanent or on loan – will again be a concern to supporters who have been concerned with the lack of progress this summer.
