Newcastle United have failed with one bid for Norwich City winger Jacob Murphy.
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is demanding that the club make a new bid for Norwich City winger Jacob Murphy.
The Magpies have endured a less-than-impressive transfer window this summer, bringing in just the one new face in French defender Florian Lejeune, with loan winger Christian Atsu also signed permanently.

There have been various claims that manager Benitez is growing frustrated with the club’s lack of activity in the transfer market, and he is now demanding a new bid for another winger even after landing Atsu.
The Telegraph report that Newcastle have offered £8million for Norwich City winger Jacob Murphy, and whilst the Canaries have rebuffed that approach, Benitez is allegedly desperate to make an increased offer.
It’s claimed that Murphy himself wants the move to St. James’ Park, and having had the wide man scouted during the Under-21 European Championships earlier this summer, Benitez now wants a deal done.
Murphy, 22, has come up through the ranks with Norwich alongside twin brother Josh, and he starred for the Canaries last season with nine goals and six assists in 37 Championship appearances.

A pacey wide man with huge potential, Murphy even showed versatility to play at right back for the England Under-21’s this summer, and Norwich are unsurprisingly reluctant to let one of their homegrown talents leave the club.
Newcastle must now consider a new bid, and with Benitez frustrated, managing director Lee Charnley must delivery results in the pursuit of a winger, with Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore seemingly too expensive.
