Newcastle are reportedly keen on Cedric Bakambu and Danny Ings.
Villarreal striker Cedric Bakambu
According to The Sun, Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has asked about a deal for Villarreal striker Cedric Bakambu – and is also keen on Danny Ings.
The Magpies have won promotion to the Premier League but have made just the one signing so far this summer, landing winger Christian Atsu on a permanent basis from Chelsea after a successful loan spell.

Manager Benitez now needs to bring in more quality to boost his Newcastle side, and with question marks over the futures of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Daryl Murphy, strikers will be needed to support Dwight Gayle.
Whilst Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham has been touted as a target, The Sun now report that Villarreal striker Cedric Bakambu has become a leading target for Newcastle boss Benitez.

Bakambu, 26, had spells Sochaux and Bursaspor before joining Villarreal in 2015, and he smashed 22 goals in 50 appearances for the Spanish club last season.
The DR Congo international started only 17 La Liga games this past season, but did manage to end the campaign with 11 goals to his name, with Villarreal allegedly seeking a £15million fee for the pacey and powerful striker – but Newcastle want to negotiate that price down.
Liverpool’s Danny Ings
Benitez has other targets in mind though, with Liverpool striker Danny Ings also believed to be on Newcastle’s radar as he works his way back from yet another major injury.
The 24-year-old hit 43 goals in 130 games for Burnley, but has managed just 11 games for Liverpool since joining in 2015, having suffered two serious knee injuries – and Newcastle are allegedly looking to take advantage by either taking Ings on loan or attempting to sign him permanently.
