Chelsea co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali is personally trying to sign Mykhailo Mudryk ahead of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal from Shakhtar Donetsk in the January transfer window, according to The Telegraph.
Arsenal v Chelsea for Mykhailo Mudryk
The report has claimed that Chelsea are now in Poland along with Arsenal to hold talks with Shakhtar over Ukraine international winger Mudryk.
According to the report, Chelsea ‘co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali, possibly with at least one member of Chelsea’s recruitment team, has travelled to Poland where Shakhtar are based to try to close a deal with meetings scheduled for this weekend’.
Arsenal are also in Poland trying to deal done for Mudryk, who reportedly wants to move to the Emirates Stadium in the middle of the season.

The report has claimed that Chelsea are willing to pay close to the £88 million transfer fee that Shakhtar are looking for.
Arsenal’s third bid for the 22-year-old is £62m up front, rising to between £75m and £80m.
Player’s desire could be decisive
In our view, Mykhailo Mudryk’s desire to move to Arsenal could play a big role in the final decision.
Yes, Chelsea are a big club and are keen, but if the winger wants to join the Gunners, then it is going to be hard for the Blues to convince him to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.
Would Chelsea manager Graham Potter really want a player in his squad who did not want to be there in the first place?
