Leeds United’s hopes of signing Ben White this summer have been handed a crushing blow by BBC Sport.
Leeds have been chasing White for much of the summer so far, and are understood to have made at least two bids for the central defender.
However, Brighton & Hove Albion have swatted away their last two offers and have now told Leeds that White is not for sale.
It seems that no matter how hard the Whites press, they are struggling to find a way to bring the 22-year-old to Elland Road on a permanent basis.
Leeds now look set to fail to bring White back to Yorkshire, and that harms their preparations for their new campaign.

White was in absolutely brilliant form on loan for Leeds last term, and he would have been a guaranteed starter if he did re-join the club.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side may well have to look at other central defensive targets now though, as they aim to build a squad capable of competing in the Premier League for next season.
