According to Bleacher Report, Bayern Munich are stunned that Thiago suddenly wants to leave for the Premier League.
It’s claimed that Bayern though Thiago would be signing a new deal when they offered him terms in May, only to find out a month later that he suddenly wanted a Premier League move.
Nobody at Bayern saw it coming, leaving many shocked. Few at the club now expect a U-turn, nor do they think the will play for the club again.
The reports of a move to Liverpool are believed to have been leaked from within the Bayern dressing room, with players discussing a possible move to Merseyside amongst themselves.
It’s added that sources believe Thiago wouldn’t be acting like this if he didn’t have a specific club in mind for his next move, with Liverpool possibly that club because of Jurgen Klopp’s admiration of him.
The claims about the Bayern dressing room aren’t exactly new, as Christian Falk of Sport Bild suggested the same on Twitter earlier this month.
Thiago would provide some real creativity to the Liverpool midfield, as he is a superb passer of the ball and is excellent in tight spaces.
However, Thiago is now 29, and spending big on him doesn’t really fit with Liverpool’s current transfer ethos, so it’s still difficult to see a move happening.
Still, the Bayern dressing room discussing the move and Thiago seemingly fancying Liverpool will keep this rumour alive for some time yet.
