West Ham United were allegedly keen to sign the German.

According to a report from German media outlet Bild, Bayern Munich striker Sandro Wagner rejected the chance to join West Ham this month, favouring instead a move to China
The Hammers expressed their interest in signing the 31-year-old late last year, according to the Sun, with Manuel Pellegrini desperate to bolster his attacking ranks at the London Stadium.
German publication Bild now claim that West Ham actually offered the striker terms, only for the German to knock the east London outfit’s advances back.
Pellegrini’s need for another striker does not seem to be as urgent now as it once was, however, with Marko Arnautovic having committed this future to the club.

Wagner would have been a shrewd addition for West Ham, but at 31-years-old, it could be argued that he is already on the downward spiral in his career.
Whether the Hammers manage to bring in anyone else instead of the Bayern hitman before Thursday’s deadline, however, remains to be seen.
