According to Sport1, Bayern Munich are now in talks to sign Gleison Bremer, who is said to be a target for Newcastle and Liverpool.

What’s the story?

Well, this is a big blow for Newcastle and Liverpool.

Bayern Munich are losing Niklas Sule at the end of the season, as the German has decided to join Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer.

As a result, Julian Nagelsmann is on the lookout for a relatively cheap replacement, and the German giants have identified Bremer as their man.

It comes after Radio Itatiaia claimed that Liverpool had made contact with Torino over a deal for the Brazilian.

Elsewhere, Corriere Granata revealed that Newcastle had submitted a bid for the towering centre-back, who is impressing in Italy.

Now, the Premier League duo could both lose out to Bayern Munich.

As aforesaid, Bayern Munich don’t want to break the bank to replace Sule, as they’re not receiving a transfer fee from Borussia Dortmund.

According to Sport1, that is why they aren’t targeting the likes of Matthijs de Ligt instead of Bremer.

In that respect, Newcastle and Liverpool could surely outbid the Bundesliga side in this transfer race.

The Magpies are now the richest club on the planet, whereas Liverpool – thanks to the English TV money – have more funds than Bayern Munich.

Sport1 believe Torino want €15m (£12m) which is nothing for Premier League sides, so the Reds and the Magpies could easily take the auction beyond Bayern Munich if they choose to do so.
