Bayern Munich have joined Aston Villa and Wolves in the race to sign Yassine Bounou – who is currently starring at the World Cup with Morocco.

What’s the story?

Well, the African glovesman – also known as Bono – has put his name up in lights after helping Morocco make history in Qatar.

Bounou has kept three clean sheets at the World Cup so far – the first African goalkeeper in history to do so – as Morocco become the first African side ever to reach the semi-finals of the famous tournament.

Now, Bayern Munich are keen to sign him as a replacement for Manuel Neuer – according to AS in Spain.

The Spanish news outlet believe Sevilla are at risk of losing their No.13 to the German giants after Neuer broke his leg while skiing, following Germany’s exit at the World Cup Group Stage.

It comes after Vamos Mi Sevilla FC revealed that Aston Villa and Wolves are also keen to sign the 31-year-old Bounou in 2023.

Bayern Munich have alternative to Aston Villa & Wolves target

AS add that Bayern Munich are also considering another World Cup star in Dominik Livakovic if they are unable to sign Bounou.

That may not mean much to Aston Villa and Wolves, but in regards to Leeds, it is bad news.

Media Foot in France believe Leeds have made contact with Dinamo Zagreb over a £9m deal for the Croatia international, as they prepare for life without Illan Meslier amid interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.

However, if it comes down to a choice of Leeds or Bayern Munich for Livakovic, we presume the shot-stopper who helped knock Brazil and Neymar out of the World Cup would choose the latter, with all due respect.

Be sure to keep an eye on the situation, as Bayern Munich’s hunt for a Neuer replacement looks set to involve Aston Villa, Wolves and Leeds.
