Bayern Munich are interested in Arsenal target Thilo Kehrer, according to Foot Mercato.

What’s the story?

According to the French publication, there is still some way to go before reaching an agreement for the defender.

Both Kehrer’s representatives and Bayern met during the Bundesliga outfit’s match versus Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Paris Saint Germain are embarking on a clear-out of their squad before the transfer deadline.

It follows the arrival of Lionel Messi on a free transfer, with the ace earning £1m-per-week.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the £21.5m-rated PSG right-back this summer. The most recent report from Kicker claimed the ace was being chased by the Gunners and Bayer Leverkusen.

Signing a right-back has been a priority all summer, and it seems Kehrer has emerged as a target.

However, if links with Bayern prove true, Arsenal face an impossible task to sign him.

The German champions are one of the biggest sides in Europe. Their success and standing makes them enticing for any player.

On the other hand, Arsenal have been free-falling into mediocrity since the departure of Arsene Wenger.

For the first time in over 20 years, the club will not play in Europe.

If given a choice of guaranteed success or a struggle, it will be hard to see how Kehrer does not choose the former.
