Bayern Munich are hoping to lure Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino to the club despite winning the German league, according to a report.
The Daily Star claim that Bayern have always been long-admirers of the highly-rated Argentine coach who will be preparing for Tottenham’s Champions League final.
It is said that Pochettino’s recent comments about potentially leaving the club have given them fresh hope that he will become available in the summer.
After Spurs beat Ajax in the Champions League semi-final, Pochettino stated that he would be ‘stupid’ to stay on at the North London club without ‘no plan’, as quoted by BBC Sport.
On Saturday, Bayern lifted yet another German title when Niko Kovac guided his team to a thumping 5-1 win over Europa League semi-finalists Eintracht Frankfurt.
It isn’t a surprise to see Pochettino’s name in the hat with the big name European jobs because he has done a remarkable job at the club.
For the past two transfer windows, he hasn’t signed any players, but he has still guided the team to a top-four finish in the Premier League and he is 90 minutes away from winning the European Cup.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, who finished as runners-up in the Premier League this season, stand in their way of glory as they will want to go one better after losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid last season.
Nonetheless, last May, Pochettino signed a five-year contract with Spurs in a deal worth up to £8.5 million-a-year, according to The Telegraph.
