Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen is reportedly on Bayer Leverkusen’s radar.

It has also been reported that the Belgium international is keen on joining the German club before the summer transfer window closes next week.
The 32-year-old defender has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs this season and has yet to make an appearance for the North London outfit.
Big mistake
Vertonghen is one of the best defenders in the Premier League, and despite being 32 years of age, he remains a player at the top of his game.
The former Ajax star is hugely experienced, and Spurs need that this season, as they aim to challenge for the Premier League title and also make an impact in the Champions League.

True, Spurs have two brilliant central defenders in Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez, but they need a large squad and more options on the substitutes’ bench.
According to The Sun, Vertonghen has just one year left on his current contract at Tottenham, and perhaps that could tempt the North London outfit to cash in on the defender this summer.
