Tom Pearce is set to leave Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United to join Championship and Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.

Tom Pearce is on the verge of bidding farewell to Leeds United and signing a three-year contract with Championship rivals Barnsley, according to Leeds Live.
The Tykes and The Whites have become rather comfortable bedfellows this summer. Striker Mallik Wilks and Aapo Halme have already swapped Elland Road for Oakwell after all and left-back Pearce looks set to follow in their footsteps.
The former Everton youngster looked like a real star for the future when he made his mark during the short-lived reign of Paul Heckingbottom a year ago, being rewarded for his swashbuckling displays with a four-year contract.
But, just one year on, Pearce is reportedly surplus to requirements and on his way out of West Yorkshire.
Leeds Live claim that cash-strapped Bolton Wanderers were interested but Barnsley are set to win the race by offering the youngster a three-year deal.

Pearce’s decline from promising youngster to forgotten man may have Leeds fans wondering what might have been but Marcelo Bielsa is hardly short of options at left-back.
Barry Douglas remains the first-choice but Gianni Alioski and Stuart Dallas impressed when picked in an unfamiliar role. And then there’s the exciting Leif Davis too.
