Leeds United’s hopes of signing Abde Ezzalzouli have taken a hit with Barcelona promising him a first-team role for next season.

Leeds are already being linked with one Barcelona winger in Ilias Akhomach.

It turns out that the Whites also fancy his teammate Abde.

SPORT claimed last week that Leeds have been chasing Abde’s signature ahead of the summer window.

Agent Javier Garrido allegedly travelled to England last week and met with Leeds to discuss a summer move.

Aston Villa were also mentioned in that report with Abde seemingly being eyed for a Premier League move.

Sadly for Leeds and Villa, it sounds like Barcelona just have no intention of letting Abde leave this summer.

Barcelona want to keep Leeds United target Abde Ezzalzouli

SPORT now claim that Barcelona have told Abde that he will be staying at the Camp Nou.

It’s stated that he will be in the first-team squad for pre-season training and will be given opportunities to play moving forward.

Abde is allegedly excited by Barcelona’s stance and he will now focus on becoming a star under Xavi.

The report adds that Barcelona have ruled out selling Abde and believe he can be worth much more down the line.

Abde joined Barcelona B from Herucles back in 2021 and actually made 12 first-team appearances last season.

The 21-year-old was farmed out on loan this season, joining Osasuna in a move which has certainly paid dividends.

Abde has bagged three goals and two assists in 22 league games as well as scoring twice in four Copa del Rey outings.

Hailed as ‘spectacular’ by Xavi, Abde seemingly won’t be heading to Leeds now.

This is still one to keep an eye on for Leeds though as Barcelona already have wingers like Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha, Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati.

One of them may need to leave for Abde to play regularly and Leeds would be wise to keep tabs on the situation this summer.
