Liverpool turned down a £72 million offer for Philippe Coutinho already.

The Mirror has reported that Liverpool are set to receive an £80 million bid from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho.

Liverpool have already turned down a £72 million offer for the Brazilian attacker this week.

But The Mirror report that the Primera Division giants are unperturbed and will up their initial offer by £8 million in an effort to prise him from Anfield.

The 25-year-old is arguably the Reds’ most important player after scoring 13 goals and setting up seven in 28 Premier League appearances last season.

And, logically, Barca would have to increase their initial bid by a lot more if they want to give manager Jurgen Klopp something to think about.

The German coach was adamant that Coutinho would not be sold and an £80 million bid is unlikely to change his mind on the matter.

The Mirror went on to claim that Barcelona are “determined” to get their man but minimal increases aren’t the right way to go about it.
